Remix 30: I Can’t Think of a Witty Title

Remix 30
Chris Lake provides us with a nice dance floor remix of one of Mark Ronson’s quality tracks. I’m a fan.

Resonator favorite Hatchmatik dropped this remix early this week and I’ve had it on repeat since then. I dig everything he’s doing these days. Keep it up!

This comes straight from Mike B of LA (I have to say Mike B of LA since there’s terrible top40 club deejay in Atlanta that goes by Mike B) and its an awesome destroy the floor with rock track. And its true: all the girls like hacks. Thanks Mike B!

Surkin comes back with an awesome take on one of the new VHS or Beta tracks. I’m not really a fan of the original at all, and honestly everything after Night on Fire has bored me to death, but this remix breaths life back into the debate.

Friday Remixes (Week 07)!

I’ve been inhaling toxic cleaning chemicals like whoa this week trying to move out of my old apartment, and I’m exhausted. Trying to launch a software package while spending all my time cleaning and moving and not sleeping kinda sucks. So lets see what I have in store for this week.

Chromeo

Chromeo has always been one of those love/hate relationships. As in sometimes they put out some good material, but I normally just can’t quite bring myself to be a fan. I’ve heard a few tracks from the new album and I have to say, I don’t hate them. In fact I might even like them! There’s a few different remixes Fancy Footwork floating around, but this one happens to be my favorite:

Chromeo - Fancy Footwork ( thomas barford remix)

Visit Chromeo on MySpace but, for the love of god, DON’T go to their homepage — its one of the most annoying fucking things on the interwebs.

Next up, Kissy Sell Out:
Kissy Sell Out

He’s quietly turned into one of my favorite producers/remixers/deejays/etc… I’ve used both a remix of his “Keanu Reeves” and his remix of The Loose Cannons - “Raw” many a times now (including in my most recent deejay mix). He’s a college student from the UK and continues to hammer out solid tracks and remixes and has my official Hacks Seal of Approval© (wtf is that?.. hell if I know). Here’s a remix he did a little while back of “We Are Rockstars”. He just kills it.

Last up I’ve got one hell of a banger remixed by Surkin off of City Slang

Justine Electra - Killalday(Surkin Remix)

The first time I heard this my ears perked up, my head starting nodding and my hand did the “ball into a fist rocking out motion” I do (if you’ve seen it, you know what I’m talking about). Crunchy and bouncy with a tweaked out vocal sample that drops in when the moment is just right. mmm fun. You can check out Justine Electra’s upcoming release here

This is Surkin.

And he’s cool

Ok, back to setting up this server. Have a good weekend kids.
