Old Money Crew hit us up with a few tracks a few hot weeks ago. “Boggin’ Freesyle” is a DJ Mehdi vs Old Money Crew tribute/mashup/dug-the-Lucky-Boy-Album-so-jacked-some-beats track? I dunno.. don’t think I’m cool enough to keep up with it all. I just know it flows pretty nicely.

Dirty Disco Youth is a Res favorite and his latest effort doesn’t disappoint. There’s been a few “Insomnia” remixes floating around in recent history, but this is the first I’ve heard that I’d totally drop on an unsuspecting dance floor.

Atlanta Superstar (and Drum N’ Bass Mastermnd) Treasure Fingers just saw “Cross The Dancefloor” receive a solid remix EP recently and is totally worth checking out via Beatport or Turntable Lab if you haven’t (Lifelike remix from the EP is recommend as well). Well Flufftronix dropped us a slick and gnarly remix number he did (which isn’t on the EP) and its pretty spectacular.

German bred MMMatthias as been catching my ear recently as well.. two remixes in particular. The “Superman” remix has been around for a bit. Its a slow building prog track that ends with hands in the hair bliss without being a banger. I’ve been able to fit it in everywhere. One of favorite remixes in recent history.

I can has a new home

Dear Readers,

Your good old blogger friend choyce hacks! finally has him a new home in Brooklyn. I’ve been welcomed by three spectacular shows in a row and couldn’t think of a better way to begin life here.

Once Time Warner gives me teh internets again, expect me to return full force.

Also, if you live here and are ever looking for a deejay, hit me up: hacks@resonatormag.com. I’m already starting to pull contacts, so we’ll see what I can do for gigs up here. Besides, Trixie and I have some crazy plans in the works. Just you wait.

One of the dopest remixes in recent months, this track has killed dancefloors comprising of two completely different types of crowds. Some random dude dancing his ass off with a custom shirts for the night asked if I had any Three 6 Mafia. Normally I’m not one to pander to requests at deejay nights, but I happened to have this remix that’s been chilling in my collection for almost a year now. I think i’ve posted it before, but its ravey as fuck and I don’t think anyone had any issues with it.

I’m sure you remember the original of this.. it was a catchy and dancy blog smash hit over the summer. Well this remix notches up the funkiness a level to absolute can’t-help-but-get-down-on-the-dance-floor levels and I can’t get enough of it. Figured this would work really well as a transition into the more electro-styled tracks I wanted to drop. Pretty sure the crowd dug this as well, but I was too busy jumping around like an idiot to tell, honestly.

One Hand Loves The Remix Follow

Shaun posted up a couple tracks from the One Hand Loves The Other remix LP, and I’d figured I’d add mine into the mix as a quick addendum. Its not as readily accessible as some of the other stuff, and giving it an honest critique, I think the synth line is a little too hot and it looses a little focus towards the end. Overall its still a solid effort I think; I’ve gotten good reception from those I’ve let listen but I don’t expect it to be rocking out any dance floors.
