Damn, I’ve been doing this for almost 2 months now and every week I’ve still got more thatI want to post. Anyway, this week I’ve got a few interesting remix to share. I had picked out like 5 or 6 but, as usual, I’m running out of time due to work (yay software development schedules. . .)
First off, another fantastic remix from Van She Tech:
Riot In Belgium - La Musique(Van She Tech Remix)
I was informed this is NOT a vanshe tech remix. Check out the update here
The original (linked below) is a synthy rumbling dance floor driven track that stands up well enough on its own. The lyrics overriding the chorus help drive this into a arms-pumping dancefloor anthem. Van She Tech takes all of this, and then ups the ante. Smoothing out some of the constant rumble with a crisp, solid bass beat, it immediately gets your head nodding. From there it’s only more lushness and chopped/screwed vocals –bringing this from dancefloor churner to full-on mass frenzy.

Next up we’ve got a remix that should destroy the amazingness of the original, but yet turns out to be a really solid effort and change of pace.
Silversun Pickups - Lazy Eye (Curtis Vodka Edit)

You may have remembered our love for Silversun Pickups and, upon first seeing Curtis Vodka had remixed this, I had total mixed thoughts. His normal style is krunk and glitchy; sacrificing pretty for the nasty wamp wamp. I love both Silversun Pickup albums and the almost-drone melodic sound contained within them and had no idea what Curtis would do with it.
Its amazing; I was totally blown away.
That’s what I get for pre-judging someone I guess. Hype Machine has a bunch of Curtis’ other remixes if you want to check him out in some more detail. I’m actually a fan of most of his remixes, so if you’re bored on this Friday, dig around and check some out.
That’s all for me kids. Have work to finish and a house party to prep for and throw.
