I just would like to say that your tributes to him are very stirring and touching. I'm still in shock that he's gone. In many ways, he was a hero of mine. A journalist who was a geek but loved music and wanted to be apart of it in some way or another, just to get the sound out there. He always looked at how a certain band was going to become important and how they were going to change the world. Nobody these days seem to think or consider how a band could change the world. (Maybe this is why so much modern music these days bore me and leaves me cold or dry...)

I couldn't imagine rock'n roll without his contributions. It's not jsut about Joy Division or New Order or the Happy Mondays. It's also about modern brit pop and indie rock. We wouldn't have Oasis, The Smiths or Blur. With indie music, Fac was in my mind one of the first serious DIY labels. It predates most of the diy punk labels in America.

Now for a little geekdom, I'm hoping to do an internship in England. A good friend of mine who's a dj is from and well lives in Manchester. When he came to visit me last October, he told me that if I got an internship with the BBC or NME or something like that, that I could easily meet Tony. So the plan was for me to get the internship and live with my friend in Manchester and we'd go out trying to meet Tony lol. I'm still going to try to score an internship over there, because I want to check out Manchester. But I won't lie, I feel a bit sad that I won't get to meet Mr. Wilson anytime soon.
