getting away with it cos she's ethnic is bull****

seriously why make comments that aren't logical AND racist

give criticism, constructive and interesting, rather than some crap that any dumbass can vomit

i do agree with you that one shouldn't refer to africa as a country, that 'grinds my gears' too.

rather than nicking, isn't it simply an homage to blue monday and stating "where is my mind?"

you could argue this for kanye's "stronger" but that lacked the creativity this artist utilised.

i'm not an xcore m.i.a. fan but i think there should be some balance in this debate

LOVE the blog, HATE this review

i'm dissapointed with your flawed conclusions

may i ask what is wrong for M.I.A. to highlight the gender argument at all. plus you come across slightly misogynist...

BUT, thanks for the mp3s and the rest of the blog has been brilliant! ! !

Besides nicking "Where is my Mind?" in $20, she also completely lifts the melody of "Blue Monday" by New Order.

She talks about things she knows not about. Loads of her songs she reps for Africa like in bamboo banger (a plant that doesn't even grow in Africa, its a Chinese plant) and its like damn your not even African your sri Lankan tallk about your own endz not mine. Africa isn't a country but she talks about it like it is - its a huge Continant with lots of varying nations within. Saying how much can you buy an Ak in Africa sounds hot (its even got alliteration) but in reality saying stuff like that isn't really right especially considering you dont even know the answer - she only gets away with it cause she's ethnic.

huh. there's MIA's rant and then there's this one.
despite outright calling people on it, you still insist a man was and is still behind her music because it just *sounds* like it is.
and 'boyz' doesn't sound anything like timbaland and the biggest sling you have against the new album is how her sound is ran through with the scene crowd (as if they ever mattered in discerning what was any good), and that's a problem. a lot of records that turn into hot shit are regarded as having "that sound" with little thought as to hearing an artist who can and will have future input and evolve. so when they release another record it'll take yet another one before they're considered "established." it seems depressingly fashion oriented.
oh, and diplo may have pushed for the sound, but there's more Richard X on that record than Wesley Pentz.
apparently a little righteous feminism is supposed to be way uncalled for when he was just going to ask some stock questions about her new album, but i think she hit the nail on the head and i *think* we can handle it.
